I recently passed the 7 week mark since I had a hip replaced, and I've started walking seriously again. This week I surpassed 45 miles for the first time in over 6 months. Pain and frustration are my training companions right now, but I will walk through that soon enough I expect. Walking through pain has been a specialty of mine for years now, at least until my hip gave out. I anticipate getting back to my 10+ mile a day self by spring. Copious amounts of walking in the forest is my mental health treatment plan, and it has been wildly successful. I have a plan to walk a 50+ mile route on a high divide logging road across the Calapooya Mountains this summer. Wish me luck!
